Waldo Homes Association was started back in 1991 by folks interested in maintaining their property values... hence the name - Waldo Homes Association. Since then, we have watched our neighborhood grow, change, and diversify so we are now more of a Neighborhood Association.
Our boundaries are "L" shaped:
We started in 1991 with a square – 79th St to 85th St, Wornall Rd to Oak St. Then in 1997 we added 82nd St to 85th St, Oak St to Holmes Rd.

We meet throughout the year so that neighbors can get to know each other and discuss neighborhood events and issues.
Our dues are $15 per household per year. Dues are NOT mandatory as in other nearby areas. We depend on voluntary participation for our projects and our operating expenses. In recent years we've been averaging about 150 paid memberships per year... about 15% of the neighborhood. Each year we apply for a Neighborhood Self Help Fund Grant through the Kansas City Neighborhood Alliance and with those funds plan neighborhood cleanup, neighborhood safety, and neighborhood unity projects.
We work closely with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department and the Waldo Area Business Association as well as with surrounding neighborhood associations to stay informed and involved with current issues.
Benefits of membership include the Waldo Homes/Neighborhood Association newsletter; PhoneTree messages regarding current issues in the neighborhood, reminders of meetings, and crime/safety alerts; and best of all – being part of a warm and wonderful neighborhood that is unique and interesting.
